TEKA RANCH - WHERE THE FUN NEVER ENDS - JULY 29, 2017 - SATURDAY - ANOTHER DAY CLOSER TO A GOOD RAIN
While I was sitting on the throne about 6 this morning, I looked out the window and a coyote was standing near the old rusty shed. It had something in its mouth, but I couldn't see what it was. I grabbed my glasses and went for a better look, but it heard me and took off. Later we counted chickens and one of the young ones is missing.
I spent the morning cleaning the house and washing clothes while Terry went to Milbank to get a tire, inner tube, and a rim for the trailer. He tried to get a hub, too, but it has to be ordered and won't come for a week. He finished hauling hay over to Bob's using one of our other trailers.
Kevin baled the teff grass this afternoon, and Terry used the 8-pack to pick up the bales and put them on the trailers. Then he came home and put the bales in the big shed. It is quite difficult to maneuver the tractor+loader in the shed, but he's determined and is getting it done. Otherwise we'd have to stack them by hand.
It was another beautiful July day. Locally, rains have fallen to the west, north, and south of us. It would be nice if we would get some, too. Some day it will be our turn.
God bless you all! Goodnight!
