TEKA RANCH - WHERE THE FUN NEVER ENDS -  JULY 17, 2017 - MONDAY - ONE DAY CLOSER TO A GOOD RAIN
Terry woke up early and went to load bales on the semi. He had loaded some before Ty woke up; he'd slept in the sleeper. When the semi was loaded, Terry and Ty came to the house for bacon and eggs. Terry spent the rest of the day moving bales. He had another flat tire on a trailer. It went flat in the field and we can't figure out what he'd have found out there.

Altho' I was up at different times during the night, I didn't see any northern lights. Did anyone around here?

Terry's wonderful new smart phone quit working and he didn't drop it or do anything to it.

We are out of homemade bread, so I decided to mix some up. That's when I discovered grease ants in the kitchen. There were lots of the teeny-tiny ants on the canola oil jug. After the bread was mixed up, I began making banana bread. I'd gotten a large bag of ripe bananas last week. I checked on the bread. It wasn't rising--I'd forgotten to add the yeast! So I stirred the yeast into some water and added it to the dough. I squished it through my fingers until it was mixed up quite well and added more flour. It worked; the dough rose and the loaves look good. However, one of the loaves of banana bread must be lacking the oil. It is different from the others and quite dry.

Darwin and Delores stopped by for a bit while I had the mess in the kitchen.

It was 96 degrees here at 3 + the wind blew hard from the southwest. This evening some clouds came up in the west, but they slid south. We only got some tiny sprinkles and a rainbow. We can see lightning in the clouds to the south now and the wind is still blowing hard.

 After the sun set tonight.
Terry has a doc app't in the morning with labs. I'll ride along. Goodnight!
